VGSE faculty members ranked high in the Handelsblatt-Ranking Volkswirtschaftslehre 2015!
Economists at the University of Vienna are leading in the German speaking world. The best placed researchers in Austria in terms of life-time work performance are Gerhard Sorger at 32, Benedikt Pötscher at 36, Maarten Janssen at 41, Jean-Robert Tyran at 90, Wieland Müller at 125, and Klaus Ritzberger at 165.
In terms of best research performance over the last five years Jean-Robert Tyran is listed at rank 27 and Maarten Janssen at 82 out of 100 researchers.
The Handelsblatt-Ranking Volkswirtschaftslehre 2015 states the University of Vienna as number 13 in terms of research performance of the economics faculty.
The Handelsblatt-Ranking is one of the most extensive and representative rankings in the German-speaking world. It is based on a database which includes publications of more than 3600 researchers at 81 universities in Germany, Austria and the German speaking part of Switzerland.
