Application Process & Timeline

The academic year at the University of Vienna starts at October 1 every year.
VGSE offers two application deadlines for every year:

  • December 1 - January 31 (first round)
  • March 1 - April 30 (second round)

All complete applications will be reviewed and shortlisted candidates will be invited for personal interviews. The interviews for first round will take place in February or March, for second round will take place in May. They can be held face-to-face, via telephone, or via Skype. The decision upon acceptance is taken shortly after the interviews.

Note that you can apply only for one of the deadlines.
